You will work inside the containers for much of the day, requiring a high level of attention to detail, physical dexterity, and comfort working in confined spaces.

- Manually grind, buff, and polish stainless steel surfaces using hand tools and power tools

PAY RATE: $30/hour (Non-Journeyman), $32/hour (Journeyman) — pay increase upon direct hire
SCHEDULE: HOURS UNKNOWN AT THIS TIME
Overtime is minimal; weekend work is rare but may occur as needed.
POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Mechanic to support daily operations at our Romulus facility. This role is vital in ensuring all equipment and maintenance procedures are conducted safely, efficiently, and in accordance with ISO14001 environmental standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Safely operate and maintain equipment including lathes, drill presses, grinders, and saws
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics
- Perform welding as needed
- Maintain and complete work orders and required documentation
- Assist with plant emergency response when needed
- Follow all safety protocols including PPE requirements and hazardous material procedures
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Journeyman status in Machine Repair, Millwright, Electrical, or equivalent education/experience (Journeyman’s card must be approved)
- Must be clean-shaven in areas where safety equipment seals to the face
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, kneel for long periods, and pass standard vision and HAZMAT physicals
- Willingness and ability to work overtime as needed
- Ability to read, write, and follow instructions from work orders
- Basic computer skills and mathematical abilities
- Must be able to obtain an internal lift truck license
- 5 years manufacturing maintenance experience
- Job-specific training (provided if not already certified):
- First Aid, CPR & Bloodborne Pathogen Training
- Confined Space Entry & Emergency Response
- Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Electrical Safety
- Hot Work Permits
- HAZWOPER Certification
- Lift Truck Operation
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Exposure to mechanical parts, electrical systems, chemicals, and moderate noise levels
- Occasional work at heights or in confined spaces
- Adverse weather exposure and PPE lift use may be required
